Unisys
Ina had bought out another Italian bank (Exere), and were migrating the policies, investments, bonds and trusts from the Exere systems to their own database.
This work had been awarded to Unisys to complete, and amjec was subcontracted to deliver the migration audit, integrity and reconciliation aspects of the project.
The data was from Exere's legacy systems into Ina's administration system, which was Unisure by Unisys.
We delivered a comprehensive suite of checks and tests that interrogated both the source (Exere) and target (Ina) databases and produced a fully auditable series of reports that:
- checked the volumes of investments migrated accurately matched the volumes expected
- ensured the data migrated into Ina's Unisure database formed a cohesive set of data, checking the integrity of primary and foreign keys, ensuring the relationship between clients, investments, funds, and money where correctly in place.
- totally reconciled the money and investment funds migrated. This was done globaly, and on a perinvestment, per client and per fund basis.
The latter item was of fundamental importance, as the migration was of clients investments, and it is clearly paramount that all the moneys paid - and units purchased - were migrated with 100% accuracy, to ensure clients investments, and financial planning, were in no way adversely impacted.
The reconciliation suite provided by amjec was fully auditable, preserved in Oracle tables, MS Access databases and Excel spreadsheets at all stages of the processes, and ensured that all
- monies paid were accurately migrated to Unisure, checking to 2 decimal places
- units were accurately migrated to Unisure, checking to 3 decimal places
The data from all of these stages was used during migration testing to check and validate the migration code - often highlight key errors in the migration suite.
The output from the audit, integrity and reconcilation suite produced from the live migration in Italy was preserved, and formed an important part of the final sign off of the project by Ina.
