Royal and Sun Alliance IMS Migration project
This project involved the migration of several million pension policies from an older legacy system called IMS, to Unisure from Unisys.
Unisure was Royal and Sun Alliance's policy administration platform, and RSA was movining all its life and pension products onto this strategic platform.
Amjec Limted provided Business Analysis services to RSA in the form of:
- Creation of business requirements documents
- Liaison with development team to ensure business requirements were understood and delivered.
We also provided test analysis services during the user acceptance phase of the project.
During this phase of the project we provided RSA with:
A test planning application
This application, developed in MIcrosoft Access, allowed the input of test script details, such as test case, narrative, expected results and test conditions.
Tests were updated by multiple users as they were executed, detailing whether the test was passed or failed, and details of any defects raised.
A series of reports then identified, such as:
- Progress. Number of test cases executed, outstanding
- Status. Number of passesd and failed test cases.
- Test condition coverage. How many test condition had been associated with tests, and whether those tests had been passed.
This application remained in use at RSA for several years, until the eventual purchase of Test Director
SQL script for global policy record status
To support the test team, we developed a large Oracle SQL script that accepted a policy number and output details of all the major database tables containing policy information. This script was heavily used during all testing at RSA, and we believe it is still in use to this day.
